On View in Akiane: The Early Years and Akiane: A Journey of Faith through Art
Father Forgive Them
AKIANE KRAMARIK | AGE 9
MEDIUM: Oil on Canvas
In a deep and personal way as a nine-year-old, I felt the need to paint the agony of crucifixion, and Father Forgive Them became my own child like way of expressing pain, sacrifice and forgiveness.
THE ANTHILL ASHES
When life lies down on the song of a bird
I step inside the anthill ashes…
My cross
is nailed into me…
– Akiane, Age 8
THE LAST LULLABY
Before the light ties up the dark
the time is born
inside the womb of heaven.
The mountain cannot hold the weight of the cross
full of humanity’s wrinkles.
The shut silence turns over
the love of the last lullaby.
An hour of demise knocks from above
sealing the journey of sacrifice.
As the desert carries away
the ripened scent of the sins
Jesus hangs on his own planted tree.
– Akiane, Age 8
