Dear Friend,
Belóved Gallery’s first ever Fall Affair concluded this past Sunday after three days of magnificent artistic exhibits, soul-stirring music, and community building with the best guests from around the world. Over 1,000 people traveled to Marble Falls from their homes in Brazil, Mexico, Canada, New York, California, and Florida, to name a few.
One gentleman in his 60’s, Hans, came all the way from Greenland with a hand-painted teapot in tow as a gift for Akiane. Belóved guests participated in tours of Akiane: The Early Years, the Symphony of Art!, and the inaugural Belóved Gala. They cried, they laughed, and they made new friends. Most of all, they celebrated the power of art to embolden and inspire faith and draw us deeper into God’s love.
“I feel like I belong here,” one guest, Jennifer, shared with us. “The professionalism, the people, the level of art has just blown me away, and at the same time, the kindness of the community has touched my heart.”
Many first time visitors stood face to face with the original Prince of Peace painting and experienced the awe and emotion that often follows. For others, it was like a family reunion where distant relatives find commonality, even when meeting for the first time. João Paulo Gonçalves’s shadow art exhibit not only revealed the face of Jonathan Roumie, the actor who plays Jesus in The Chosen, but also another piece in his display gradually revealed the same face as guests took turns participating in a word search. Gene Glaeser’s presentation on understanding God through art featured an original 1500’s sketch of Albrecht Dürer’s The Last Supper. Laughter filled the interview with Akiane, led by W. David O. Taylor, and new fun tidbits about the fine art master emerged. Did you know “the food she can’t live without” is eggs?

In typical fashion, Team Belóved was blown away by the personal stories of guests. Staci Tolbert came to share her remarkable story on Friday with Akiane. Back in the 1970’s, when Staci was eight years old, she was pronounced dead in a hospital after a battle with leukemia. Staci found herself standing near a beautiful countryside church, with golden angels descending out of the clouds, when Jesus appeared before her. He said, “Staci, it’s not your time yet. Go live your life and know that I’m with you always.” Staci was revived in the hospital and overcame her battle with leukemia.
She detailed her experience of seeing the Prince of Peace painting in-person for the first time decades later: “I walked in that room and literally fell to the floor in awe. I looked at that beautiful picture and stared into his beautiful eyes. It was just the way I saw Him back then.”
Hundreds of faith stories have been shared within the gallery walls. In the months ahead, Belóved Gallery will continue to collect and share these stories of faith that explore how we are all known and loved by our Creator.

Saturday evening, the Belóved Gala gathered over 300 people in celebration with Ramy Antoun and Robbie Seay leading a 10-piece orchestra. As parts of the short film, Akiane: A Portrait of the Artist, showed on the big screen, the orchestra played a live score comprised of songs from the Robbie Seay Band, Patty Griffin, and Lauren Daigle. Grace Carpenter portrayed a young Akiane in a dance that represented part of the former child prodigy’s story. Attendees worshiped God and even sang along to the moving performance. The night concluded with Akiane receiving the first ever “Faith through Art Legacy Award” from Belóved Gallery, presented by her brother and the manager of Akiane Gallery, Jeanlu Kramarik.
