Dear Friend,
We could not have anticipated what would follow when our friend Bishop Goodwill Shana, Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance, invited our team to share Akiane’s story with global leaders and ministry representatives at the 2025 WEA General Assembly in Seoul.
Another guest, Beami Strong, grew up carrying the weight of trauma and a question he couldn’t shake loose: Is God even real? Jesus felt distant and too otherworldly to understand the specific shape of a person’s suffering. But as Beami walked through Belóved Gallery, what he saw in Akiane’s art stopped him. Not a symbol, not an icon, but a face. “I suddenly felt like I could relate to things Jesus experienced while on earth,” Beami shared. “That changed everything.” The distance had closed—not because God had moved, but because Beami had been given a way to connect that touched his heart.
What began as a single opportunity soon opened the door to a relationship with SaRang Church—a relationship that grew into a friendship and eventually into the vision for hosting Akiane: A Journey of Faith Through Art.
Thousands came through the exhibition—believers, artists, families, and visitors from around the world. Some came out of deep faith, others out of curiosity. Yet many left with a renewed sense of wonder, reflection, and peace.
Moments like these remind us of why Belóved Gallery exists, and why this mission continues to matter so deeply.
