Bishop Robson’s story of passion for the church, music, politics, and science:
Founder, Bishop, and President of Sara Nossa Terra Ministry, Robson Rodovalho holds a degree in Physics from the Federal University of Goiás. He also studied Theology and completed specialized courses in Philosophy and Natural Medicine.
Married to Maria Lúcia Rodovalho for 43 years, he is the father of three children and grandfather of four grandchildren. He served one term as a Federal Congressman from 2007 to 2010, during which he contributed to significant legislative achievements for Brazilian society and the gospel community.
He authored the foundation of legislation that exempted small-scale importers, commonly known as “sacoleiros,” from certain taxes. For the evangelical community, he supported the recognition of gospel events as cultural initiatives, including their eligibility for benefits under Brazil’s Rouanet Law, which provides incentives for cultural activities. This allows individuals and companies that sponsor gospel events to deduct eligible contributions from their income tax liabilities.
After leaving Congress at the end of his term in 2010, Rodovalho dedicated himself fully to leading the members of Sara Nossa Terra, which has approximately 1.5 million followers in Brazil and in countries across the Americas, Europe, and Africa where the church is present.
As an author, Rodovalho has published more than 70 books. His works explore subjects such as spiritual battles involving generational legacies, personal development, life with God, business, and leadership. He is also dedicated to scientific research, which has resulted in books exploring the relationship between science and faith. According to Rodovalho, science and faith are two sides of the same coin, two dialects of the same language.
His book Science and Faith – The Reunion Through Quantum Physics (Ciência e Fé – O Reencontro pela Física Quântica, LeYa, 2013) reached second place in Veja magazine’s bestseller rankings in the nonfiction category during the first and second weeks of July 2013, shortly after its national launch in São Paulo. During the week of July 27, the book reached first place in Veja’s ranking. In 2016, The 12 Secrets of Jesus, co-authored with theologian Jamil Albuquerque, also appeared on the magazine’s bestseller list.
Rodovalho has traveled throughout countries in the Americas and Europe, participating in forward-looking discussions focused on understanding quantum physics as a bridge between the worlds of science and faith.
A singer and songwriter, he also hosts the daily television program Vida com Esperança on TV Gênesis. Among other honors, Bishop Robson Rodovalho has received the Religious Social Commendation (2000), an Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy, membership in the International Academy of Culture of Brasília, and the Legislative Merit Medal (2013).
Disciplined with his time, Rodovalho maintains an international schedule of conferences, where he addresses many of the themes explored in his books. He has traveled throughout the Americas and Europe participating in discussions about the relationship between quantum physics, science, and faith. Put simply, one of the central questions of these discussions is to what extent science can acknowledge the touch of God as the first light of life on Earth.
