A Closer Look at The Relic
Dear Friend,
Step beyond the canvas as Akiane Kramarik shares the inspiration, creative details, and spiritual reflections behind the masterpieces featured in Akiane: The Early Years at Belóved Gallery.
In this episode of Beyond the Brush, Akiane shares the story behind The Relic. Deeply inspired to paint a specific desert landscape, unique for its rolling hills and native plants, she felt compelled to include a boat. Though she didn’t fully understand the reason, Akiane followed that inspiration.
"This is something that is way beyond a paintbrush and an artist... this is something I think God really, really wanted me to paint."
Years later, archaeologists visiting Akiane’s home gallery were struck by The Relic. They immediately noticed similarities between Akiane’s painting and something they had encountered in real life—a connection she could not have known about when she created the masterpiece.
Whether you’ve experienced The Relic in person or are discovering it for the first time, we invite you to take a guided tour of Akiane: The Early Years at Belóved Gallery, where every masterpiece reveals a deeper story.
