Billy Jack is a self-taught animator, writer, and voice actor bringing one of the Bible’s most fearless, violent, complicated, and unforgettable books to life—one frame at a time.

His biblically inspired cartoons have built a viral following across social media, generating millions of views each month from audiences worldwide and across generations. Billy’s work is fast, funny, sometimes feisty, and visually unexpected, but beneath the humor and creative edge is a serious purpose: he creates to honor God and to make people curious enough to open the Bible for themselves.

Animation was never the original career plan. Billy studied kinesiology in college and spent several years working as a personal trainer in large gyms and private studios. Then an unexpected encounter with an animator reignited a childhood fascination with cartoons. Watching anime build enormous communities around invented characters and imaginary worlds, Billy had a realization: the Bible is crazier than anything they’re drawing.

So he gave himself a goal: get one teenager to open a Bible.

Armed with an iPad, a kitchen table, and no formal animation training, Billy began teaching himself the craft from the ground up. Within four years, he had learned to take an animated story from concept to completion—writing the scripts, acting out movements and expressions, animating the scenes, and voicing the characters himself.

And his studio has some very important regulars.

Billy’s young daughters—the loves of his life—are often right there with him as he works, playing and laughing nearby while their dad draws warriors, kings, prophets, battles, betrayals, and some of Scripture’s most unruly characters. That collision of fatherhood, faith, humor, and imagination has become part of the heartbeat behind his work.

His approach to Scripture refuses to make these ancient stories feel distant or sanitized. Billy embraces their humanity: the courage and cowardice, absurdity and brutality, victories and spectacular failures. He treats the biblical text with reverence while giving himself permission to tell the story with personality, humor, and an unmistakable edge.

What began with the hope of reaching one teenager has grown far beyond that kitchen table. Billy now hears from viewers across the world, often writing in different languages, who tell him that his animation has made them want to understand the Bible—and, most importantly to him, that they want to know more about Jesus.

For Billy, those messages matter more than views, algorithms, or follower counts. They are the reason he keeps drawing.

He is currently creating an ambitious animated interpretation of the Book of Judges—a world of unlikely heroes, deeply flawed leaders, impossible battles, shocking choices, and a God who continues working through extraordinarily imperfect people.
